After 8½ years I finally kept a home bred puppy again. This time it’s a dog that I decided to call Yikes…

12 weeks old

He was born in a litter of 7 black puppies with 4 dogs and 3 bitches.

At his first show (a Puppy Show), a little over 4 months of age, he was both Best Puppy of Breed and Best Puppy in the Herding Group! That was certainly a good start…

His first KC show was in Skara where he was BOB-Puppy, then in Hässleholm he was BOB-Puppy and 4th BPIS!

9 months old

Finally he ended his puppy career with becoming 2nd BPIS in Tvååker!!! The day after he competed as a Junior and won his class with CK. Here is a video of him moving freely out in the field at 9 months of age: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z2Syjpd3dfQ

December 2009 at Sweden’s most prestigious show in Stockholm he won the Junior Class again with CK, was placed 4th Best Dog and was Crufts Qualified! (2nd on the CC)

He made a brief appearance in the US and had success there and in Canada. At his last shows across the big pond he attended the National Specialty in Canada, as well as the US, where I had the great pleasure of handling him myself (I flew over for both shows), and although not placed in Canada (as a Special/Champion) in Canada he was placed 2nd in Open Class at the US Nationals. A super result we’re of course very pleased with!

At the Canadian Specialty (at 22 months)
Yikes came back home with a Canadian Championship, multiple Group Wins and a Herding Instinct Title (HIC) richer. He shortly after passed also  the Swedish Herding Instinct Test (VA).

After 2 successful weekends in May 2011 in Denmark and Sweden he gained both Championships!

In June he participated at the Copenhagen Winner Show in Denmark and was awarded with Cacib and ended up Best Opposite Sex, thereby adding another title to his name: Copenhagen Winner 2011.

July 2012 we flew to the north of Sweden and the Midnight Sun Dog Show in Gällivare and were also hoping for a CC/Cacib in Rovaniemi, Finland, the day after.

We never did make it to Finland, but who cares with a result like this!!!!???

Since then he’s added the Finnish, Nordic, International, German and German (VDH) Championships as well as the Polish Winner Title of 2013 to his list of accomplishments! While adding yet another title to his name during 2014 (Polish Champion) it doesn’t change the fact; that titles aside, he is simply “Yikes” to me and those who know him; the worlds happiest, cuddliest and wonderful beardie EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!
